The girls played real well, in the last two games. In the first game, the snow impeded our emtions more than our play. It was wet and cold and the girls only played to their potential for a few minutes, conccentrating more on the weather than on the game. However, in the second game against Billings the girls put all that behind them and played a superior team tougher than they played the first game. The girls showed a lot of character but lost to the “Magic City” from Billings 4-1. In the Sunday game the score was 4-0 in favor of Rapid City. The game was played a lot closer that the score would indicate. The girls dominated when they had possession, effortlessly passing and crossing the ball, but failing to finish on a number of good balls. Defensively Rapid City took advantage of small break downs. We asked to be in Silver then was placed in the Bronze division and lastly, competed in the Gold. I never heard one girl complain they welcomed the challenge and learned a lot about their play. The Girls went 0-3 for the weekend but exhibited excellent courage playing in the gold division for the first time. Way to step up girls.
