094.JPGThe U12 Girls got their first taste of action this weekend, and the results were good.  Playing a Jackson squad the girls played hard and netted 8 goals in their victory.  More importantly was the way the girls meshed with one another.  The hustle was strong and the goals came off the feet of 6 different players.  However, the game was won at the midfield.

In their second game, the girls were defeated by a very strong and well-coached Green River squad 6 - 0.  “It’s always good to see how strong teams play.  We learned more from that game that the first.  I welcome those games as they show provide us a goal to strive for,” said Lander’s Coach.

Team Captains Rachel and Natalie led the team in showing the heart it takes during these games played on hot days.  Alyssa anchored a defence that allowed no goals in the first game, and was aided immensely by the play of Brynne.  Up next:  Casper’s Fall Classic tournament.
